"TANKS" FOR STAYING!!!

Summer is almost here and the heat is on! I know with rising gas prices people are looking for vacation destinations that are close to home this year...the Camellia Rose Inn is just two hours from Orlando and Tampa and an even shorter distance from Jacksonville and Lake City! Enjoy kayaking or canoeing down the Sante Fe River or how about grabbing a tube and tubing down one of the many springs in Alachua County. Come cool off with us this year and we'll help pay for your gas! Stay three or more nights beginning June 1, 2008 through August 31, 2008, and we'll give you a $10 gas card for each night you stay! Can not be combined with any other discounts.

See you soon,
Tom & Pat

Happy Labor Day! Summer is officially over now and the football season has begun!! We've just had our first football weekend and it was a huge success! The UF students are back (all 50,000+ of them)!!! Parents I know you'll want to come visit now and then, so make the Camellia Rose Inn your home away from home!

Coming up in October is Parent's weekend October 12th & 13th. Some of the sororities have different dates for their Parent's weekends so check with your students and book your rooms now.

The Bed and Breakfast district in Gainesville is working with the Alachua County Visitors and Convention Bureau to create a weekend vacation package for the weekend of December 7-9, 2007 that will include tickets to the Matheson Museum's Holiday Home Tour. The Holiday Home Tour will include tours of all four of Gainesville's B & B's along with four other beautifully decorated private homes. I'll keep you updated on the progress; you won't want to miss this fun filled festive weekend!

I know this sounds like it's way too soon to be discussing, BUT May 2008 graduation is just around the corner! If you haven't made your reservations for your rooms for graduation, don't delay. I'm getting calls everyday from people that want to reserve rooms, but unless you've stayed with us I won't take a reservation for that weekend until January...on the other hand if you've been guests of the Camellia Rose Inn you can call now and reserve those rooms! Some rooms are already taken, but I still have many left.

Tom and I look forward to a fun filled football season and look forward to your continued visits!

It's summertime in Gainesville! There are many fun things to do here to beat the summer heat. Canoeing, kayaking or just plain ole tubing down the many rivers and springs! The Museum of Natural History has just opened a new exhibit called Megalodon that is open until January 2008. http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/. Also through August 5th the Hippodrome State Theater (just a 5 minute walk from the Inn) has a Mod Musical playing "Shout". http://thehipp.org/.

During the month of July we are offering a special rate. Stay for three nights and get 1/2 off the third night OR stay for four nights and get the fourth night FREE!! Mention the "blogger" special when making your reservations. Tom and I look forward to your visit!
